Company Messaging
Company Messaging is SMS and MMS communication from a company's main business number or toll-free number*.
* Toll-free numbers are limited to SMS (text) messages only.

Customer Company Messaging FAQ

What is Company Messaging?
Company Messaging is a business sms and mms texting solution that enables your main business phone number to send and receive text messages (SMS/text and MMS/picture). Within the Unite desktop and mobile apps, groups of one or more users in the business can receive and instantly respond to customers’ texts, giving optimal customer service.
Can a business use Company Messaging With its Main Toll-Free Number?
Yes, Company Messaging can be enabled for a business’s main local phone numbers OR toll-free numbers. There is an additional charge for toll-free numbers and they are limited to SMS/text only.
Why Would a Business Need This Solution?

Here are some reasons why it might be time to consider Company Messaging for your business:

  • Inability to manage incoming calls
  • Complaints that customers can’t reach the business
  • Missed/abandoned calls
  • Relies heavily on leaving voicemails
  • Desire to get quicker responses from customers
  • Missed appointments due to lack of appointment reminders
  • Your business competitors leverage sms marketing tools

Business Texting is the preferred mode of communication — 90% of customers say they would rather get a text over a phone call. Texting integration is a necessity for a modern-day business, and giving customers the option to two-way text your business provides a better customer experience and better customer engagement.

How is Company Messaging different from standard SMS within the Unite application?

Unite is already set up to communicate via SMS (texting) and MMS (pictures) from within the Unite application from a user’s personal business phone number to an external cell phone number. This is considered person-to-person texting.

Company Messaging is mass texting communication from a company’s main business number or toll-free number and may be assigned a name, like Sales or Customer Support. This allows customers to receive immediate and informed notification responses from an individual or a group of individuals who are monitoring that Company Messaging number. Both standard SMS messages and Company Messaging are bound to an SMS Acceptable Use Policy.
